This piece was made for my mother's 60:th birthday. The idea for the "level" part of the name comes from World of Warcraft. Level 60 was the highest level a that character could reach in the game (before the expansion packs were released), so when a character got level 60 after having played the game for a long time it was an important occasion - just like my mother's birthday!

This was made really quickly in Garageband using the computer keyboard to play the instrument and a headset mic for recording the singing. I sent it to a friend before they went for a road trip to Spain, and they put it on repeat for on the car stereo to get a good laugh!

We had just read a course in quantum physics. I and a class mate had had a presentation about Erwin Schrödinger. I surfed around on Nationalencyklopedin:s homepage (www.ne.se) and made a search for Scrödinger, just for fun. Among the information on the page there was also a sound file where one could hear how to pronounce "Scrödinger". I felt that I had to do something crazy with that file :-)
And so I played around with Apples easy-to-use Garageband application and threw together this song with the help of the loops that comes with the application. |

On our german lessons on the second year of the Gymnasium (=High school), we were reading the book "Crazy" by Benjamin Lebert. We got a task sheet for the book. One of the tasks was to choose a scene and try to find some suiting music. I composed my own music instead.
Scene: Some pupils on the boarding school are bored with the school. They are planning to escape. They make preparations, and then, finally, they run away. |

Many people have rolled on the floor laughing when they've heard Apelsinblues for the first time. Do you want to be one of them? Give it a try! It helps a lot if you understand Swedish, though :-)
When I was in ninth grade, our music teacher told our class should compose and play a music piece as a part of the teaching. I worked together with some classmates. We sat in our little room, trying to decide which kind of song we should make. An old, rotten apelsine peel lay in a corner. Isaac, one of the members in our group, said that he'd take a bite of the peel if he got some money from us. We agreed, and he actually did it. A idea to a song was born. We quickly made the two first verses, and used the "classic" blues chords: 4xC, 2xF, 2xC, G, F, C, F. After some training, we made an performance to the class, playing real instruments. I played the piano. We were no music professionals (which was quite easy to notice). I was the only one in the group who had any kind of former experience of instruments. Oh well... The music for this mp3-version is made by me with a Yamaha PSR 740 keyboard and a beige Power Macintosh G3/233. I've also written the last two verses. And – you can hear me singing. Hmmm, that's not the best thing I've sung in my life, the recording conditions and the application used could have been a lot better. |

I'm a huge fan of the Megaman series (Megaman 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 to NES, 7, 9, X, X2, X3 to SNES, and others (such as 8, X4, X5 and X6 to the Playstation)). In fact, Megaman is among the very few platform games that I like. This music piece is a bit inspired by the game music in the earlier Megaman games for Nintendo.

I invented the melody in the middle of the 90's. In the autumn term of ninth class (1999), I went together with some friends to play this song to the class with drums and bass. I had to make some changes to the melody to make it work rythmically. We trained hard (at least the last few days before the performance was to take place), but unfortunately it didn't sound as well as we deserved after all that training.
Later on I decided to make a version with bass, drums and some other instruments myself. Most of the instruments are played live with my Yamaha PSR 740 keyboard. The remaining are added with my Power Mac G3/233 and Logic Audio. Enjoy! |
